Faucet Installation 101: What Tools and Parts You Really Need

Plumber’s tape, also known as Teflon tape, helps seal threaded connections to prevent any annoying leaks. Keep a bucket and a few towels nearby to catch any water that might escape during removal or installation, and don’t forget a flashlight—it's surprisingly dark under there! You’ll also want both flathead and Phillips screwdrivers on hand, depending on your faucet model. Pro tip: having a helper on standby to hold the faucet in place while you secure it from underneath can make the whole process much smoother.

Modern faucets often come with most of the required parts, but it’s wise to double-check and have a few extras on hand:

1. Mounting hardware – Brackets, washers, and nuts.
